US Open 2021: players, draw, games, schedule and results

The American Grand Slam is held in Flushing Meadows from August 30 to September 12 with many absences: Nadal, Federer, Thiem, Serena ...

Novak Djokovic, world number one, will be the first seed of the men's team at the US Open. The Serbian will make his debut against Dane Holger Vitus Nodskov on Tuesday. He could continue against Griekspoor or Struff in second, in third Nishikori or Goffin would surely appear and already in eighth maybe Karatsev, Munar or De Miñaur. If they reached the quarterfinals, they could face Hurkacz or Berrettini, while in the semifinals coconuts like Zverev, who debuted against Querrey, would already appear on the horizon; the Spaniard Carreño, who defeated him at the Games and will make his debut against Cressy; or the Canadian Shapovalov, who will do it against the Argentine Delbonis. Other Spaniards in this area are Albert Ramos, who will start against the French Pouille, and Carballés, against the American Paul.

In the other quadrant the favorite is the rude Medvedev, who will start on Monday against Gasquet. His roadmap to a hypothetical final would include crosses with Koepfer or Halys in the second round, Cilic or the Spanish Andújar (debut against Kukushkin) in third, Evans or Dimitrov in the second round, Schwartzman or Ruud in the fourth and Tsitsipas, Rublev or Auger-Aliassime in the semifinals. The rest of the Spanish on this side are Pedro Martínez, who will start against Duckwort; Bautista, with an interesting debut against Kyrgios; Feliciano López, in a fratricidal duel against Bernabé Zapata; Carlos Alcaraz, who will have a tough first rival in Cameron Norrie; Taberner, who will face Van de Zandschulp; and Davidovich, with Trungelliti.

Barty and Osaka top the women's squad

The top side, for which ranking leader Ashleigh Barty will play, will start on Tuesday against Russia's Vera Zvonareva. In second he would meet Burel or Tauson; third, perhaps with Kudermetova; in the eighth, with Muchova and Brady; in rooms, with Bencic or Pegula; and in the semifinals, with Pliskova, Pavlyuchenkova, Andreescu or the Spanish Badosa, who will start against the Belgian Van Uytvanck. Other Spanish women in that branch are Sorribes, who makes her debut against Muchova; Bucsa, before Teichmann and Parrizas, before Gracheva.

In the bottom quadrant Naomi Osaka emerges above the rest, who will start against Bouzkova. It would continue against Parks or Danilovic in second; maybe Putintseva in third; Kerber or Gauff in eighths and Halep or Svitolina in fourths. In the semifinals, her most likely rival is the Belarusian Azarenka, who will start against Stojanovic. The Spanish in this area of the table are Carla Suárez, with debut against Collins and Garbiñe Muguruza, against Vekic.
