Urbas, new 'main sponsor' of a Leganés that haggles crises and vetoes

The real estate company, also known for sponsoring Basketball Fuenlabrada, replaces Betway. Despite the crisis, Lega has already completed its shirt.

The Leganés has reached an agreement with the real estate company Urbas Grupo Financiero so that this company, born in Barcelona, but with current operations in Spain and abroad, becomes the 'main sponsor' of the pepineros for a year. From now on, Urbas will wear on the front of the Leganés shirt and training clothes, as well as in more visible spaces of the Butarque Municipal Stadium: static advertising billboards, the television 'U', press room, Butarque Sports Facility or mixed zone. Also in their digital spaces.

The pact has become official shortly after AS advanced it and, economically, it is close to the amounts that Leganés was looking for to carry out the relay with Betway, the bookmaker that has worn in the blue and white jacket in the last three seasons and that, due to the Royal Decree on the Regulation of the Game, he may no longer be present in the blue and white clothing or facilities.

The pact with this Canadian gaming company exceeded one million euros in First per season and was above half a million in Second. Now, the objective of the club was to be around, again, that half a million euros for the 21-22 campaign. The amounts agreed with Urbas could come close to that goal.

Joy in the midst of the crisis

In the midst of a global context of crisis due to the pandemic and with the uncertainty of finding sponsors that could reach the level of investment of the bookmakers, this agreement has caused deep satisfaction to a Leganés that, even before start the championship, you will have covered all the possible advertising spaces of your jacket. Namely, the front (Urbas), the left sleeve (KFC) and the rear (Ynsadiet). On the pants, only the front is free after 'On The Bus' has signed for the back.

In comparison with many Second and First Club clubs, Leganés manages to be one of the groups that has previously closed these sponsorship agreements without, they insist on Butarque, lowering their economic expectations. The challenge was complex due to the high supply of advertising space and the low demand from advertisers to occupy them. Hence the satisfaction is maximum. To the south of the capital they believe that it shows that the Leganés brand continues to be an attractive brand, capable of transmitting values and virtues that make companies approach the pepineros more than other teams.

Abrupt break with the Fuenlabrada Basketball

This will be the second sponsorship experience that Urbas has carried out with professional sports after landing in the ACB Fuenlabrada Basketball last year through which the Fernando Martín team would be called Urbas Fuenlabrada for three seasons. It happens, however, that the Madrid club has reported this afternoon, through a statement, that Urbas has unilaterally broken this 'naming right' agreement, leaving 225,000 euros to owe and without activating any clause of the contract signed in 2020.

Born in the 1940s as a company dedicated primarily to urban transport in Barcelona, Urbas has evolved to derive its activity into a real estate company with a presence in Spain and abroad and the desire to diversify its business beyond the current framework.
