The Croatian pivot of Joventut de Badalona has a proximal fracture of the third metacarpal of his right hand, according to the club reported this Friday.

The Croatian pivot of Joventut de Badalona Ante Tomic, will miss the start of the Endesa League due to a proximal fracture of the third metacarpal of his right hand, as reported this Friday by the Catalan club.

The player's recovery period will be "six weeks, depending on his evolution," the club said in a statement. Joventut will debut in the Endesa League on September 18 against Bilbao Basket, in Badalona.

Tomic broke the finger of his left hand in training on Thursday and after doing the first tests it was decided that he should undergo surgery this Friday.

The player was intervened by doctors Sánchez and Masvidal, from the Joventut de Badalona medical services, at the General Hospital of Catalonia, as explained by the club in a statement.

The Joventut de Badalona will debut this Saturday (7pm) in the preseason, facing MoraBanc Andorra in Escaldes-Engordany (Andorra).
