The Torres doors, only open for arrivals

The azulones start the competition with the departures section already closed a priori. On the other hand, three or four incorporations are expected.

A few days before the start of LaLiga SmartBank 2021-22, Fuenlabrada continues to outline a squad that should only be joined by troops. The sports management does not contemplate any more exit after the sale of Pathé Ciss and Randy Nteka to Rayo Vallecano. On the other hand, three, even four, could be the new names that would come to the Oltra team.

Fuenlabrada ended its departures several weeks ago with the sales of Ciss and Nteka to its neighbor in the capital, Rayo. The pair of midfielders were the most coveted pieces of the Azulona squad and their departure left an acceptable amount of money in the club's coffers. However, they were not the only ones who left the Torres. Glauder, Pinchi, Feuillassier, Gassama, Garcés, Rosic and Freixanet also left between non-renewals and end of assignments.

All these operations were closed before August 1, which has allowed the Azulonas offices to focus exclusively on new additions during the last month of the summer market. This is the plan of the azulones that do not contemplate any more a priori sales.

Only the defense is closed

Miguel Melgar, Azulón sports director, stated at a press conference that "signing another goalkeeper, midfielder and forward are the objectives." The goalkeeper responds to the need to have three guaranteed goalkeepers in the squad and a more defensive midfielder, to find a competitor for Jano to be Ciss's replacement. However, AS has learned that the possibility of signing an attacking midfielder is also being explored.

Garcés, the chosen one

Borja Garcés continues to be the main objective of Fuenlabrada to reinforce its lead, as AS learned. However, the interest of Primera teams (Cádiz, Levante and Rayo) and many Segunda (Leganés, Zaragoza, Valladolid ...) would complicate an operation in which the management and the Azulona fans have high hopes after the excellent level that the rojiblanco youth squad gave last season.
