The Spanish National Team overcomes a calm 5th stage of the Tour del Porvenir without difficulties

The 5th part of the Tour del Porvenir has been resolved by a massive arrival in which Van der Berg has added another victory. Juan Ayuso is already home.

After two days that have left a very important mark on this 2021 edition of the Tour del Porvenir, the race has resumed some tranquility today and has provided a stage without events with an impact on the general before starting the first contact with the mountain tomorrow. The stage was resolved by means of a sprint in which the Dutchman Van der Berg was the fastest and the riders of the Spanish National Team have always been attentive and well placed to enter with the same time as the winner at the finish line.

The leading role throughout this fifth part of the Tour del Porvenir has fallen on the getaway made up of Schmidbauer (Austria), Schellenberg (Canada), Changizi (Denmark), Jarc (Slovakia) and Coqueret (France), which has come to count with more than five minutes of rent on the peloton and that has managed to give a good scare to the large group.The five escapees have shown, in addition to a great understanding, a very good pedaling and together they have managed to resist the pulse with the peloton, where Belgium and the Netherlands have divided the work to try to ensure the massive sprint. The breakaway has managed to cross the arc of the last kilometer with an 8-second advantage over the peloton, which when it has seen the finish line has launched in search of it and has hunted the runners who have been the head of the race all day .

The fastest in the mass arrival was Marijn Van der Berg, who has added his third victory in the race, after those he achieved in the third stage and in the team time trial together with his teammates. The Tour del Porvenir will experience its first contact with the mountainous terrain tomorrow in a stage of 137.5 km that will include two ascents of the fourth category and another of the third category in its initial half, while in the second stage they will have to face two ascents to the Cote de la Combe du Lac, a long climb, but without large percentages that should not result in major differences in the general.
