Burgos has earned its own right to be considered the capital of national cycling in 2021. No province can boast of having world-class races for men and women, two teams, Burgos Alimenta for girls and Burgos-BH for men. For the latter, his fourth invitation to be in La Vuelta comes this year with the responsibility of acting as host in the first three stages. “For us it is a dream to start La Vuelta from our city. We have prepared the race with great ambition, ”says Julio Andrés Izquierdo, manager of the training.

On the minds of the whole team is the great achievement of the structure in the Spanish round. The victory of Ángel Madrazo in the 2019 edition. He also achieved it in the first high finish of the race, Javalambre, while in this 2021 edition the first mountain goal is on his land, Picón Blanco. “A stage victory should be the objective”, points out Dani Navarro, who together with Madrazo himself will be the references (both have triumphs in the round). Along with the two climbers will run outstanding riders such as Diego Rubio and Jetse Bol, another good mountain cyclist such as Óscar Cabedo, and three newcomers from whom much is expected, Ander Okamika, Carlos Canal and Pelayo Sánchez.

An 'eight' that must be seen to respond to the invitation received by La Vuelta. Rubén Pérez, team director, assures that there are reasons to be optimistic: “It is our great goal of the season, the cyclists have prepared it with great care and we really want to compete” .
