The Scottish Open, a long-established tournament on the European circuit, will appear for the first time on the official PGA Tour calendar. In addition, it will have a new main sponsor, 'Genesis', the luxury car brand from South Korea, which also sponsors the title of another tournament on the US circuit: The Genesis Invitational, which takes place in Los Angeles (California, USA). ) .

In addition to the Scottish Open event, there will also be access for 50 members of the European circuit to two US tournaments: the Barracuda Championship, which will be played simultaneously with the Scottish Open, and the Barbasol Championship. Both will be added to the Race to Dubai for members of the European tour.

It was also announced this Tuesday through a statement that, as part of the strategic alliance and collaboration between the two circuits, the Irish Open will see a significant increase in the prize pool, which goes to 6 million dollars from 2022, nearly double the amount delivered to Mount Juliet last month.
