After the first contact with the mountain, in which the favorites fled the opportunity to risk the victory and the leadership, La Vuelta returns to the flat terrain in which its obstacles will be nervousness and falls. A day in which the sprinters will once again have the opportunity to experience a massive new arrival, so it seems that the control of the appointment will depend on the teams with sprinters. And there is one whose motivation is unmatched by other rivals, Fabio Jakobsen.

The Dutch sprinter has managed to return to the elite after the tremendous accident with multiple fractures he suffered on the Tour of Poland after his incident with Groenewegen in August last year. “A year ago I was on a stretcher and now I think I have managed to get back into the best of the sprint,” says the Deceuninck rider, who returned this season almost eight months later in Turkey. Then he did Algarve and Dauphiné, although it was not until the Tour of Wallonia, in July, when he returned to get into the arrivals and get two victories.

In this Vuelta he was already seen in the first sprint, in stage 2 in which he finished second behind Jasper Philipsen. “I was a bit disappointed, because it was not the perfect arrival. But I can not complain. It gives me confidence to think that I can aspire to a victory in the next few days ”, says the sprinter ambitiously, who already knows what it is to win at La Vuelta. In 2019 he already added two triumphs, including the arrival in Madrid, although raising his arms again in a big one, after what he has had to overcome, would be even more special.
