Test in Burgos for Bernal and Landa for the Vuelta

The race starts today from the Cathedral, as will the national round on August 14. Las Lagunas de Neila will decide the winner.

The first day of the Vuelta a Burgos will begin today in the Cathedral as a tribute to the eight centuries since the laying of its first stone, and will end at Alto del Castillo. As is usual, the round will be decided on the last day, in the Neila Lagoons. The novelty of this edition will take place in the third stage, since it will not end up high, but after climbing Picón Blanco it will go down to Espinosa de los Monteros. Remco Evenepoel's Deceuninck, winner in 2020, will not participate, so the Belgian will not defend his title. Last year's event became an example of management by kicking off post-confinement cycling.

Egan Bernal and Mikel Landa will compete with their sights set on fine-tuning the filming for the Tour of Spain, which will also start at the Burgos Cathedral on August 14. The Yates brothers, David de la Cruz, Hugh Carthy or Antonio Pedrero will be other names that will be in the fight (Dunbar fell from Ineos due to COVID-19). The competition will also help the four teams invited to the Vuelta, Alpecin (by European ranking) and the Spanish Caja Rural-RGA, Burgos-BH and Euskaltel-Euskadi, to finalize details for the third big one in 2021.
