Santi Aldama goes to more

The Spanish started again in the Las Vegas Summer League and captured 12 rebounds. He's trying to carve out a niche in the Grizzlies' inside rotation.


Spanish power forward Santi Aldama repeated his start with the Memphis Grizzlies in the third game of the Summer League they played against the Sacramento Kings and lost 75-90.

Aldama, who started for the second consecutive game, emerged as the leader of the inside game, grabbing 12 rebounds, including eight defenders, but lacked inspiration when it came to scoring. The 20-year-old Spaniard, selected by the Grizzlies with number 30 in the last NBA draft, also contributed six points, but missed 12 of 13 shots from the field, including five 3-point attempts he made.

Aldama, trained at the University of Loyola Maryland, saved the score by being perfect from the personnel line with 4 of 4, in addition to distributing two assists in the 27 minutes he was on the track. The defeat of the Grizzlies was the second they have harvested so far in the competition and they have a losing record of 1-2.
