It was not an easy race in Austria for the drivers, due to the changing conditions on the track. And for Márquez in particular the difficulties increased when he went out onto the track with his arm infiltrated. It was not a good result for the ilerdense in the 15th, but the sensations are different, especially with the dry track. This is recognized by Alberto Puig, Repsol Honda Team Principal, in a statement released by the team.

“Obviously the final result was not good, but if we look at Marc's race we can see that, although he had disadvantages, he was able to be among the fastest riders and stay with them in the dry. This is important for Marc, and also for the Repsol Honda team, because we understand that he is returning to his real potential. We are leaving Austria of course without reaching some of the potential of our RC213V, but we are constantly working to improve. We are not there yet, but we are on the way ”analyzes Puig, who also points out the component of fortune playing in flag-to-flag races:“ In this situation you cannot know what the best strategy is until the race ends. Even then, only the pilot knows. It is a lottery and sometimes you have the luck you need to get it. Talking is easy, but acting is complicated. ”

Although Austria was not as satisfactory as they would have liked, Puig prefers to stay with the positive and look at the next appointments now: “The positive is that Marc was able to ride with the fastest riders throughout the Grand Prix and the negative was the crash at the end of the race. Now we go to Silverstone, a fast, difficult, cold and long track. But the important thing about the last two weeks is that we have collected more data and we have seen Marc return to his level step by step. ”
