Official: Joselu returns to Lugo

The player arrives on loan from Tenerife to the albivermello team, as had been advanced by Manoj Daswani, from the SER.

The news was advanced by Manoj Daswani, a partner of Cadena SER and AS, confirmed by Lugo's sports director Mauro Pérez in the presentation of Sene and made official by Lugo himself a little before three in the afternoon: forward Joselu arrives on loan from Tenerife to the albivermello team, where he achieved his best performance and the only Pichichi trophy that Lugo has to his credit.

The arrival of Joselu fits like a glove on the type of attacker that Lugo was looking for in the market. In the words of its sports director, Mauro Pérez, the albivermello team would like to incorporate a forward "who is the complete opposite of what we already have. An attacker who is fast, with mobility, who tires the rival defenses", which is a exact description of Joselu's style of play. For his part, the forward welcomes the return to Lugo, a team in which he undoubtedly lived his best year as a scorer, scoring no less than 23 goals, which helped him to become the top scorer in the category.

In fact, Joselu has never achieved similar numbers after leaving Lugo. In Granada he scored 9 goals in the 2017-2018 season, and 10 with Oviedo in 2018-2019 and 2 in 2019-2020 with Tenerife, where he arrived in the winter market. From then on, he did not manage to settle in the eleven at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López and last season ended, for the first time, blank. Now, his arrival at Lugo can help him relaunch his scoring nose precisely in the team in which he shone the most.
