Real Madrid has made official the transfer of Álvaro Odriozola to Fiorentina until June 30, 2022. As pointed out by Diario AS a few days ago, the Spanish defender had agreed to go out in search of minutes so that the white club could release a token before the possible arrival of Mbappé at the Santiago Bernabéu. The San Sebastian side is leaving, yes, without a purchase option for the Italian team.

This will be Odriozola's second assignment since he arrived at the white club in 2018 from Real Sociedad. He already did it during the 2019-2020 season at Bayern Munich due to the lack of minutes that Zidane gave him. The Basque landed in Munich in the winter market and only played five games for the Bavarian club. Of course, in that season he achieved the treble. On his return to Madrid in the 2020-2021 season, nothing changed and only the injuries of Carvajal and Lucas Vázquez allowed him to enter the starting eleven during the final stretch of last year.

The transfer of Odriozola is the fourth that the white club has made in 2021. It thus joins the departures of Brahim (Milan), Chust (Cádiz) and Kubo (Mallorca). The renewal of Lucas Vázquez and the recovery of Carvajal had left the San Sebastian defender in a very delicate situation. For Carlo Ancelotti it was the third right back and finally Odriozola has chosen to leave to have more opportunities. He goes to a Fiorentina that after the departure of Pol Lirola needed a player in his position. In addition, the Spanish footballer leaves Madrid's number 19 free, which joins the other two options that the club had, 5 and 23, to give Mbappé if he ends up completing his signing this summer.
