Carlota Ciganda will play her fifth Solheim Cup

Spanish golfer Carlota Ciganda will play her fifth Solheim Cup, which will take place from September 4 to 6 at the Inverness Golf Club in Toledo in Ohio (United States), after qualifying thanks to the world ranking.

Carlota Ciganda will once again defend the interests of the European team in the Solheim Cup 2021 after qualifying on merit thanks to the position he currently occupies in the ranking.

The Navarrese will become the first Spanish golfer to play five editions of this competition that faces the women's teams from Europe and the United States every two years.Ciganda was already decisive in her debut in 2013 at the Colorado Golf Club, where she won all three games she played in a performance that allowed Europe to achieve its first victory on American soil.

Since then, the woman from Pamplona has not missed any edition and of the seven Spanish women who have played the Solheim Cup --Raquel Carriedo, Paula Martí, Ana Belén Sánchez, Tania Elósegui, Azahara Muñoz, Beatriz Recari and Carlota Ciganda herself-- is the one who more points accumulates (8) .

Along with Carlota Ciganda will be Danish Emily Kristine Pedersen, England's Georgia Hall, Sweden's Anna Nordqvist, Germany's Sophia Popov and England's Charley Hull, who will also play her fifth Solheim this year.

In contrast, the Irish Leona Maguire, the Finnish Matilda Castren and the Danish Nanna Koerstz Madsen will debut in the Solheim Cup. To all of them will be added the English Mel Reid, the French Celine Boutier and the Swedish Madelene Sangstrom.
