The Bora-Hansgrohe team continues with its renewal for the 2022 season and this Monday made official the arrival of one of the most promising cyclists in the peloton: the young Russian Aleksandr Vlasov. At 25 years old, Vlasov is one of the cyclists to follow in the great tours after touching the Top-10 in the 2020 Tour of Spain and having finished fourth in the Giro d'Italia this season, in which he was also second in the Paris-Nice general route.

In statements collected by the Bora-Hansgrohe website, Vlasov himself was very excited about the signing. "I am looking forward to these next few years at Bora-Hansgrohe, but I also want to thank you for my stay at Astana. With them I have achieved several successful seasons and took my first steps as a professional cyclist. However, now is the time for something new. My goals are definitely Grand Tours. I will have to keep working hard with the Bora-Hansgrohe to keep improving, because one day I hope to win one of the three Grand Tours. But I also think I have chances in some demanding races of one day. I have already been third in Lombardy and winning a monument would be very nice. That is also possible. The team and I have the same goals in mind and we are planning the way to achieve them. Now we have to walk it together. "

For his part, Ralph Denk, manager of the team, also celebrated the arrival of Vlasov. "Aleksandr is one of the great talents to follow in races for these and we are very proud that he decided to join us. As you know, he had interest from other teams. With him, we will definitely focus on the grand tours. In the medium term, the objective is the Tour de France but he still has to learn and grow, something that is easier in the Giro and the Vuelta. Overall, we are very well positioned when it comes to riders in the general classification, but that is also our goal. Each rider will have their opportunities. I am confident that we have a fantastic team with many tactical possibilities and that will allow us to fight for the top positions. "
