Bayern sign another Nagelsmann soldier

Sabitzer signs until 2025 and, in this way, he returns to the command of the German coach, a coach who gave him stripes during his time at RB Leipzig.

It did not take long for Bayern Munich to make official what, except for a last-minute surprise, will be their last signing in this summer market. The Bundesliga champion confirmed on his website the acquisition of Marcel Sabitzer, a versatile 27-year-old midfielder from Leipzig. He signs until 2025 and, in this way, he returns to the orders of Julian Nagelsmann, a technician who gave him stripes during his time at RB Leipzig and who asked the Bayern technical secretariat to try to bring in a player who puts the icing on the roster of the sixteenth-century European champion.

"Marcel Sabitzer has everything a player needs to be part of Bayern. In addition, he will not need a long period of adaptation because he is already familiar with the philosophy of our coach Julian Nagelsmann," Oliver Kahn, the club's general manager, was quoted as saying. Sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic added: "We are very happy to have been able to sign Marcel Sabitzer. He is a great footballer, has mentality, is ambitious and has taken responsibility on and off the pitch as RB captain. Our coach knows him very well. well, also as a leader ".

Sabitzer will wear the number 18 in his new club, with which he could debut precisely against his former team. The new Bayern player spoke of his signing: "I am very happy to be able to play for Bayern. As a child, my Bayern shirt was my great pride, they gave me a new one every year at Christmas. I will give everything for this club, I want to win as many games as possible and, of course, many titles ".

Bayern's first league engagement after the national team break will face Leipzig at home, at which point Sabitzer, who is out for the next matches of the Austrian team due to some discomfort in the abductors, aims to be fully recovered. He will not be the only Bayern player to return to his old home: it should be remembered that both Nagelsmann and the central Upamecano also exchanged Leipzig for Munich this summer.
