Aldama is already of the Grizzlies

Santi Aldama has signed for the Grizzlies and officially makes the jump to the best league in the world. The Gasols and Juan Carlos Navarro have already passed through Memphis.

Spanish center Santi Aldama, selected number 30 by the Memphis Grizzlies in the last NBA draft, signed his first rookie contract last night for three guaranteed seasons. The 20-year-old player, trained at the University of Maryland, reaches the best league in the world in this way and fulfills a dream.

The Grizzlies to get Aldama, whom they believe could emulate compatriot Marc Gasol, had to give the Utah Jazz the No. 40 pick plus two second-round picks in future college draws.

The move made it possible for the Grizzlies to advance the pick and get Aldama. The Spanish player was named to the 2020-21 All-Patriot League First Team after averaging 21.2 points; 10.1 rebounds; 2.3 assists; 1.00 steals and 1.71 blocks in 35.0 minutes in 17 games he played during his second year at Loyola Maryland.

The Grizzlies, who also closed the contract with forward Zaire Williams, 19, whom they selected with the number 10, and will have a salary of 4.37 million dollars, already have 15 players with guaranteed contracts, which which means that most of your off-season business is probably over.

The team still has a two-way slot open, with a two-way qualification offer for Killian Tillie. Both Williams and Aldama have been included in the Grizzlies team that will compete in the NBA Summer League that began yesterday, Sunday, in Las Vegas.
