Zaragoza meet Elche in a friendly with a unique format

Juan Ignacio Martínez still has Carbonell out, but he will already be able to count on Adrián and the new signing Fran Gámez for the second game of the preseason (9:00 p.m., Aragón TV). Two one-hour times.

Real Zaragoza faces Elche tonight (9:00 p.m., Aragón TV) their second preseason friendly and the first of the three at the level that will be played at the Pinatar Arena Football Center. Juan Ignacio Martínez will not be able to count on Carbonell yet, recovering from his strong blow to the sciatic nerve, nor on Ratón, still on paternity leave, but he will now be able to line up Adrián, recovered from his muscular discomfort, and the only signing so far, Fran Gamez.

As AS already pointed out on Thursday, this preparation match will have a unique format, with two one-hour parts, by agreement between Juan Ignacio Martínez and the French-green team coach, Fran Escribá. So the second friendly of the preseason of Zaragoza will last 120 minutes instead of the regulation 90. Both coaches agreed to this new modality in order to give their players more minutes. JIM's idea, as he did in Calahorra, where the Aragonese team lost 2-0, is to line up two completely different eleven in each period.

After three training sessions in the middle of sweltering heat, this will be the first of three friendlies that Real Zaragoza will play at the San Pedro del Pinatar camp. The other two will be against Valencia (Wednesday, July 28) and Atromitos de Atenas (Friday, July 30), both with regulations.
