Thirty-six days after the shameful end of the last championship against Leganés and with all the sports programming on the air until the change of ownership in the sports limited company is defined, Real Zaragoza today begins the 2021-22 preseason with the relevant medical examinations and PCR tests.

Up to 26 players are summoned by groups from first thing in the morning by Dr. Ireneo de los Mártires, head of Real Zaragoza's medical services, to undergo all the tests one day before starting training tomorrow afternoon, at 7:00 p.m., in the Sports City, where the first part of the preseason will take place.

Right now, Juan Ignacio Martínez has the following footballers at his command: Cristian Álvarez, Ratón, Vigaray, Francés, Jair, Atienza, Clemente, Nieto, Chavarría, Zapater, Eguaras, James, Javi Ros, Adrián, Francho, Bermejo, Larrazábal , Vuckic, Narváez, Iván Azón and Baselga, as well as Carbonell, Guillermo Acín, Javi Hernández, Ángel López and Pablo Cortés, from the subsidiary. Lasure, for his part, remains on leave after completing the last phase of his treatment for a testicular tumor and it will take about four months for him to be able to train again, while Bikoro's contract will be terminated.

Zaragoza will play their first two friendlies on Saturday 17 against Teruel in Pinilla, and on Tuesday 20 July against Calahorra.

From July 22 to 30, a rally is scheduled in San Pedro de Pinatar. In Murcia, the Aragonese team will play three more friendlies, against Elche on Saturday July 24 at 9:00 p.m., against Valencia on Wednesday 28 at 6:45 p.m. and against Atromitos de Atenas on Friday 30 a 19:00 hours.

After the concentration, Zaragoza will only play one more friendly match coinciding with the City of Zaragoza-Carlos Lapetra Memorial Trophy, to start the League on the weekend of August 14-15, and may even be on Friday 13.
