Viny Okouo, third reinforcement of the Monbus Obradoiro

The Congolese center (2.15 meters and 24 years old) played last season for Acunsa GBC. Signature for the next two campaigns.

The Monbus Obradoiro announced this Monday the signing of Congolese center Viny Okouo, who signed a contract for the next two seasons after leaving Gipuzkoa Basket.

In the Basque team last season he averaged 9.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 0.3 blocks, 0.6 recoveries and 2.0 losses in 19.3 minutes (36 games) in the Endesa League.

"With the signing of Viny, we mainly think about the player that he can become. He comes to the ideal place to develop and improve, not only in the technical aspect, and meanwhile contribute to the team all the qualities that are accompanied by his size" , stated the general director of Obradoiro, José Luis Mateo.

Okouo, 2.15 meters and 24 years old, signed in 2013 for Unicaja, with whom he debuted in the Endesa league in the 2015-16 championship. With the Malaga team he played four seasons in the highest category of Spanish basketball and then made the leap to Lithuanian Nevezis, in which he played the 2019-20 season.

It is the third reinforcement of the team led by Moncho Fernández for the 2021-22 season, after Argentine guard Fernando Zurbriggen (Obras Sanitarias) and American guard Braydon Hobbs (Oldenburg) .
