Third contract renewal for Pogacar ... until 2027!

The UAE announced the extension of the Slovenian, who in March had already extended his link with the team until 2026: "I'm at home in the squad."

UAE Team Emirates and Tadej Pogacar have signed one of the longest contracts in professional cycling history, and the 22-year-old Slovenian will remain with the Emirati team until 2027. Pogacar joined the squad in 2019 and has since won 29 races, including two Tour de France titles, a monumental victory at Liege and, most recently, an Olympic bronze at the Tokyo distance event. This is its third extension. In March 2020 he extended his relationship until the end of 2024 and, once again in March 2021, until the 2026 season. Within this policy of attracting and retaining talent, the Spanish pearl Juan Ayuso, 18, signed until 2025 (and will debut on the World Tour in the San Sebastián Classic this Saturday) .

On the return trip from Japan, Pogacar paid a visit to the United Arab Emirates, where he met with the president of the UAE, Matar Suhail Al Yabhouni Al Dhaheri, with whom he signed the new agreement. Pogacar, who must decide on his presence in the Vuelta (it starts in Burgos on August 14), was delighted: “I am very happy to be able to commit my future with the UAE and stay here until 2027. I feel at home, like in a big family. We fit in very well and I am lucky to say that I have not only found colleagues, but also friends. Hopefully the following campaigns bring more achievements for me and for the team. ”
