According to AS was able to confirm, late on Wednesday night (after the Portet session), about 50 agents from the Central Office for Combating Environmental Attacks and Public Health (OCLAESP) showed up at the hotel in Bahrain, the Novotel de Lescar (shared on the outskirts of Pau with Groupama and Movistar), to carry out a search for prohibited substances. It was a coordinated operation with the French Agency for the Fight against Doping (AFLD), remotely controlled by suspicion. In the structure of the Persian Gulf they did not want to make statements to AS's questions, and this Thursday they will start in the 18th fraction of the Tour. There were no arrests and documents were seized.

In June, two French team managers made anonymous accusations in a report from Le Parisien about Bahrain's performances at Giro and Dauphiné: “It is an absolute disgrace and it is becoming more and more scandalous. His Giro was depressing because of Italian Damiano Caruso (second overall and winner at Alpe Motta) and Slovenian Jan Tratnik, who surprised everyone on the climbs. At the Dauphiné, a guy (Mark Padun) robbed us at La Plagne and on top of that he didn't have the decency to hide the next day at Les Gets (the Ukrainian scored both mountain stages). It's reminiscent of the dirty 2000s. ”

Bahrain achieved two partial victories at the Giro, Caruso's and Gino Mäder's at San Giacomo. He has two more on the Tour, by Matej Mohoric at Le Creusot and by Dylan Teuns at Le Grand Bornand. Wout Poels wears the best climber's jersey and Pello Bilbao is tenth after finishing 13th in the Corsa Rosa. Mikel Landa started as the leader of the squad in the Italian round, but fell on the way to Cattolica and broke his left clavicle and five ribs. Sonny Colbrelli (very present in the Grande Boucle), with triumphs in Romandie and Dauphiné, and Mader, in Switzerland, close the successes in the World Tour in 2021.
