Without a doubt for AD Alcorcón this season will be very special. The Club celebrates its 50 years and it does so being the team with the most consecutive seasons in the silver category of Spanish football. In the early afternoon, the Club also made a very special announcement. The AD Alcorcón has proposed the reform and expansion of its house, in Santo Domingo. The stadium is municipally owned, but according to the information provided by the potter group through its website, the cost would be borne by the Club and would be 3 million euros. The project would expand the capacity of the Santo Domingo Stadium, which now stands at 5,000 spectators, and would reform the image and exteriors of the stadium. It would develop in various phases. Phase 1 would be focused on the construction of the new lighting towers, and an execution plan has been developed for the remaining Phases of the project, which covers all the stadium bleachers, the roof of the bleachers, office areas and surrounding areas. .

The AD Alcorcón only requests from the City Council “support for the project that is reflected in the necessary processing of two technical aspects associated with the current concession for the use of the stadium: on the one hand, the adaptation of the perimeter of the concession to the technical parameters of the reform and on the other hand the compensation of any canon or rate that may be applicable with the strong investment offered and with the services that the stadium would provide to the city after the reform and expansion. ”

The pottery entity understands that the project could be carried out between 2021 and 2022. From Diario AS the Club has been asked and consulted about the capacity that the 'new' Santo Domingo could host. However, from the pottery entity they have not wanted to reveal what is the projection of spectators who could see the AD Alcorcón matches in the new stadium if it were to take place. It has to be studied

The project has just been sent by the Club to the Consistory and has been presented in the Register of the Alcorcón City Council, an unavoidable step. The Diario AS contacted the City Council, which has been prudent: "We will make an assessment when the municipal technicians study it." This has been the literal phrase that from municipal sources has been transferred to Diario AS. As the Club itself recognizes, the project has been presented by the City Council Registry. Now it's time to analyze all the technical details and the viability of this.

Even so, this announcement has managed to excite the fans of Alcorconeros who have expressed their joy on social networks. Everything indicates that 2021 could be a very special year for the pottery entity.
