Stuani renews until 2026

The Uruguayan striker, a symbol of the Montilivi club, would leave the entity at the age of 39 if he fulfills the new contract in full

Awaiting the officialization of the arrival of Míchel as Girona's new coach, the sports management continues to work on those club assets whose continuity is not linked to the new coach. And if there is a man who has been the watchword of this club since he arrived, that is Cristhian Stuani. The Uruguayan striker, who ended his previous contract in two seasons, has renewed until 2026. There are Stuani for a while.

At 34 years old, it is not usual for such long contracts to be signed, since Stuani will leave Girona (provided that he fulfills the contract in full) in 2026 at 39 years old. But, simply put, rojiblanco's numbers support him: in 136 games at the club he has scored 82 goals, becoming a legendary striker in Montilivi. After a season in which he has been hampered by injuries (they have not allowed him to play with the regularity of previous courses) the Uruguayan has renewed his bond with Girona.

Stuani arrived at the club the year he was promoted to First Division and has now become the fifth top scorer in the club's history. With campaigns above 30 goals, his performance has been spectacular. Obviously he is a man especially loved by the fans not only for his records, but also for the commitment he has shown to the club. Despite the demotion and the reduction of the salary limit, Stuani has remained committed to the Catalan club.

This renovation scares away any doubt about its continuity, which, like every summer, hovered over Montilivi. From Argentina they reported the interest of Boca Juniors (who already tried to hire him in the past), a door that has been permanently closed.
