The Spanish cycling team will not participate in the Saint Petersburg Track Nations Cup due to the critical epidemiological situation that the Russian city is currently experiencing, as reported by the federation.

The second round of the Track World Cup will be held in Saint Petersburg from July 9 to 11, but given the increase in cases of covid-19 that is occurring in the Russian city, the decision has been made not to participate in the test to preserve the health of cyclists.

The appointment of Saint Petersburg, where the Spanish soccer team played its quarter-final match of the Eurocup against Switzerland, last Friday, replaces the one that could not be held in April in Newport (Wales) due to the level of covid- 19 and existing restrictions.

The next round of the World Cup is scheduled to take place in Cali (Colombia) between September 9 and 12.
