Second friendly for Madrid confirmed: against an eternal rival

Second friendly for Madrid confirmed: against an eternal rival

Real Madrid announced their second friendly of the season. The Whites will face Milan at the Wörthersee Stadion in Klagenfurt (Austria) on 8 August from 6:30 p.m. The good relations between the two teams have made it possible for this meeting to be held in a town that was previously known for hosting the old preseason of the white team. Curiously, both teams have played what so far is the last edition of the Bernabéu Trophy, played in 2018.

This confrontation will measure the two clubs that have achieved the most European Cups throughout history. Between them they add 20 (13 from Real Madrid to seven from the Lombard team), and that will serve for an old reunion between Carlo Ancelotti and the Rossonero team, the coach that led them to win the last two continental titles (2003 and 2007). This game will be played just six days after the start of the 2021-22 League against Alavés (Saturday 14 from 22:00 hours). The match between Madrid and Milan will be played under the slogan #AthletesVersus Cup to fight against discrimination and racism.

This match is the second friendly confirmed by the white entity, after the training match that I played against Fuenlabrada (won 3-1). A preseason that is unusual compared to other years: this summer there will be no tour of China or the United States. Either way, the white club is still waiting for another friendly to prepare for the season and the start of the league. It should be remembered that last Thursday it was confirmed that Real Madrid's first game in this preseason will be played against Glasgow Rangers on Sunday, July 25 at their stadium in Ibrox Park.
