Toprak Razgatioglu is the new leader of the Superbike World Championship after his victory in race 2 at Donington Park in which Jonathan Rea also finished out of the points after suffering a fall in during his fight with the Turkish Yamaha.

The Northern Irishman started the morning by taking out his claw and winning the short race. It was the braking of the four-race streak accumulated by the champion without victory. He was joined on the podium by the two BMWs, which in the UK seem to have taken an obvious step forward, as Sykes put the German bike back in the box in race two. Razgatioglu started again from the 13th place and climbed on a delicate asphalt to the fifth place.

In race 2, the heads-up between Razgatioglu, starting from the second row, and Rea, from the pole, was quickly set up. In the tenth lap the champion took advantage of a gap left by the Turk to take command, but just one lap later Rea lost the front end at turn 8. And from there Razgatioglu managed his advantage until the checkered flag, his second victory of the weekend at Donington Park that gives him the lead of the general classification with two points of advantage over Rea, 20th in goal after his fall. Garrett Gerloff (Yamaha) and Tom Sykes closed the podium in the second race.

Regarding the results of the Spanish, Bautista was 15 in the Superpole race and tenth in race 2. Isaac Viñales finished 13th and 16th and Tito Rabat did not finish the Superpole Race and was 14th in the race 2.
