Onana, closer to Lyon

Negotiations for the Cameroonian goalkeeper between Ajax and Lyon are in their final stretch. The Dutch club compromises and the transfer could be closed shortly.

The transfer is not yet closed, but it is close. Optimism surrounds the operation that Lyon and Ajax are forging by André Onana. The Cameroonian goalkeeper is very close to meeting Peter Bosz. The coach already led the goalkeeper at Ajax during the 16-17 season and has now asked for an effort for him. Onana, sanctioned for having tested positive, will not be able to play until next November 4. The still Ajax player went to the TAS to show that he tested positive for a mistake when taking a pill from his wife for a headache. The court reduced the penalty, but did not cancel it entirely.

Ajax, despite this, presented him with a renewal offer, but the African goalkeeper is determined to take another step in his career and go to play in a somewhat more competitive league. The contract with the Dutch club ends at the end of the season and that also conditions the negotiations. During the last hours, Lyon and Ajax have approached positions. The Amsterdam club was asking for an amount below 10 million and the Frenchman barely passed half.

The positions have come very close in the last hours and Onana, at 25 years old, is one step away from changing countries. The one that was canterano of Barcelona would happen to a French club with aspirations. Lyon have lost some ground in Ligue 1, but Aulas already plans to return to compete with the best. He has brought Bosz to the bench, after the Rudy García cycle, and wants to stand up to PSG and Lille, the last champion.
