Official: Laprovittola is already culé

Barcelona confirms the signing of the Argentine base for the next two seasons. He arrives to cover the possible marches of Westermann and Bolmaro.

Nicolás Laprovittola is a new Barça player. In the absence of a medical examination, the Barça club has issued a statement to make official the agreement between both parties, which links the paths of the Argentine base with the Culé team until 2023. Two years of contract for the one who until now was a Real Madrid player . Laprovittola has been in the white club for the last two seasons, where he arrived from Joventut and after being named MVP of the Endesa League. However, his performance in Madrid has been below expectations and last summer he was able to leave for Greece, to Panathinaikos, with whom there was an agreement. However, the almost total certainty that Campazzo would leave the team for the NBA before finishing the course made Laprovittola stay in the Spanish capital for another year.

The news comes out a few hours after Lapro meets with one of his future colleagues, as well as several former colleagues. Tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. Argentina will face Spain in the Olympic Games and there they will face Rudy Fernández, Sergio Llull, Alberto Abalde and YUsman Garuba, with whom they have shared a dressing room in Madrid. But he will also meet Álex Abrines and Pau Gasol, although in this case it is still unknown if he will continue at Barça for another year. For his part, Víctor Claver is no longer part of the Barça squad and next year he will return to play for Valencia.

Laprovittola has played 153 matches in ACB and 71 in Euroleague. In the domestic competition, last year he averaged 9.5 points and 4 assists in 32 minutes, while in the continental tournament his averages were 6.8 points and 3.8 basket passes. His arrival in Barcelona is understood as a substitute for two possible departures from the base position. On the one hand, Leo Westermann, who arrived in January this year, but does not have the confidence of Sarunas Jasikevicius. And on the other, Leandro Bolmaro, who seems to be packing his bags to go to Minnesota, a team that has its rights in the NBA.
