Mourinho has a new full-back: Matías Viña

The Uruguayan player travels to Rome today to put himself at the command of the Portuguese coach. He reaches 23 years of age from Palmeiras

Mourinho's Roma has a new reinforcement, and has gone to look for it to Brazil, specifically to Palmeiras. The man chosen by the Portuguese coach is Matías Viña, a 23-year-old left-hander who can also occupy the center-back position as he has done on previous occasions. The Uruguayan player arrived at Palmeiras from Nacional on the last day of the transfer window of January of last year for 4.5 million.

Viña played a total of 33 games last season, adding 2 goals and 2 assists, data that does not support him as a very offensive player, but nevertheless he has been very solid in defense tasks. Viña is flying to the capital of Italy at the moment to make his signing for the team coached by José Mourinho official.

Viña presumably arrives to solve the loss of the great revelation of the last European Championship, Leonardo Spinazzola. The Italian tore his Achilles tendon and will be lost around the middle of next season, a loss that Roma want to make up for with the young Uruguayan player, who will try to restore confidence in him in his leap to European football.
