Matt Costello becomes Baskonia's first signing

The North American pivot (27 years old and 2.08 meters) arrives from Herbalife Gran Canaria. Signature for the next three seasons.

TD Systems Baskonia has officially signed Matt Costello for the next three seasons. He comes from Herbalife Gran Canaria, where he has played in the ACB League and European competitions for two seasons. Costello is a 27-year-old center, 2.08-meter tall and trained at Michigan State University. In four years he averaged 25.1 points, 19.1 rebounds and posted an average of 4.2 blocks per game.In the NBA he signed with the San Antonio Spurs but only played four games and most of the time he spent in the G-League with the Austin Spurs with whom he was proclaimed champion in 2018.

In Europe he landed at Avellino and averaged 13.8 points and 9.3 rebounds in the Basketball Champions League.

His time at Herbalife Gran Canaria

Already in Gran Canaria he has also signed good numbers with 11.9 points, 6.7 rebounds and a PIR of 14.2 in the league in addition to 10.2 points, 6.5 rebounds and a PIR of 14.2 in the last Eurocup.

Dusko Ivanovic's inner men, after Ilimane Diop's departure, are Jekiri, Fall and Costello himself. They can be helped by people like Giedraitis or Peters but Polonara is already history too and has set course for Fenerbahce after passing through the Tokyo Olympics with the Italian team.
