Manu García will play on loan at Alavés this next season

Sporting makes the transfer of the midfielder official, which entails the extension of his contract for one more season, until 2025, with the rojiblanca entity.

As expected, the first market move at Sporting has been the departure of Manu García, who will play on loan for Deportivo Alavés next season, which will begin in mid-August, as the Gijón club has made official.

The loan of Manu García means the extension of his contract with Sporting for one more season, that is, it will conclude in June 2025. The Asturian international will return to the rojiblanca entity at the end of the next season and he will still have three more seasons of contract .

Deportivo Alavés has presented itself as the best option for the player, in his opinion and that of his agents, to follow the progression expected of him. Manu García wanted to play in the highest category of Spanish football and the Basque club was the one who showed the most interest in having his services, although there were other teams such as Betis or Real Sociedad that were interested in his situation.

An offer from Belgian Anderlecht for his transfer and the interest from Italy of Udinese and Venice were the options that came to Manu García from abroad. However, the footballer's wish was to continue his growth in Spain to give continuity, in addition, to his explosion in the Under-21 National Team that led him to debut with the senior team, even if it was a circumstantial event.

Manu García came to Sporting two seasons ago in a very important bet by the Asturian club that paid four million euros for the purchase of his rights to Manchester City. The English club reserves 25% of a hypothetical transfer that has not occurred this time with the transfer of the player to Alavés.
