The Vuelta Ciclista a España had not been to Extremadura for a while and, returning in this edition, may lead to returning more often. This was stated today by the director of the Vuelta, Javier Guillén, whose main objective is "to establish great connections between regions and provinces of Spain, keeping people united under the same feeling of pride" .

In this edition of La Vuelta, three stages will be held in Extremadura, which will also take place on the third weekend of competition. "Today is a day of joy, but also of responsibility. As soon as the stage ends, we will get in touch with those responsible for sports in Extremadura because the idea of La Vuelta is not only to come, it is to repeat," reiterated Guillén.

The Cycling Tour of Spain through Extremadura will take place on August 27, 28 and 29, with two finals in points of the region such as the town of Villanueva de la Serena and Pico Villuercas.

Regarding the pandemic situation, Guillén explained that the important thing is to "strictly follow" all health measures, for which, La Vuelta is "in permanent contact with all health authorities." Guillén trusts that the pandemic situation allows the power to have an audience in these three stages, although he has appealed to the responsibility of the fan who approaches if it is allowed, so the use of a mask will be established.Extremadura, overturned with La Vuelta

Various authorities from the region have also been present in this presentation, such as the presidents of the Cáceres councils, Carlos Carlos, and Badajoz, Miguel Ángel Gallardo, as well as mayors of towns through which the cycling round will pass.

For his part, the president of the Extremadura Board, Guillermo Fernández Vara, has highlighted the "extraordinary atmosphere that exists" regarding the passage of the Vuelta Ciclista a España through Extremadura, since as he has indicated: "It will be the end of reference week of the year in the region without a doubt, since there is no other event that is going to be able to carry the image of Extremadura throughout most of the world ".

Likewise, Fernández Vara has stated that "in Extremadura, a lot of bicycle culture has developed", as well as "a lot of respect for the cyclist."
