Juan Fernández, option for the defense of Ibiza

The Ibizan footballer is on the Pitiuso club's agenda. Last season he played for Sabadell in the Second Division. He has a contract with Almería.

Juan Fernández Blanco, a UD Almería player, is on the UD Ibiza agenda as an option to strengthen the defense of the Ibizan club. Sources from the island entity have confirmed to As that the central Pitiuso likes to reinforce the squad that Juan Carlos Carcedo trains, and that this 21-22 season he will play for the first time in LaLiga SmartBank.

The arrival of Juan Fernández, known soccerically as Juan Ibiza, would also be the local note to the squad, since the footballer is born on the island, from where he left when he was a child to continue training in the Villarreal quarry. After spending several years at the Castellón club, he signed for Almería, with whom he still has a contract and with whom he has experience in the Second Division.

However, last year the Andalusian club transferred him to Sabadell, with whom he also played in the silver category but could not prevent the relegation of the Harlequins. But Juan Ibiza was a fixture in the Catalan club's scheme, with whom he played 36 official matches and scored three goals, all of them in league competition.

The Ibizan footballer would not frown upon his incorporation to the UD Ibiza project, which he has praised on occasion in interviews. Now, at 25, he has accumulated enough experience and maturity to compete for a position at the rear of the Balearic team, in which Rubén González and David Goldar are currently pure centrals, since José Antonio Pardo rescinded his contract a few days ago.

At the moment, UD Ibiza has made three signings: midfielder Kevin Appin (free from Hercules), winger Miki Villar (free from Compostela), midfielder Mateusz Bogusz (on loan from Leeds) and forward Sergio Castel (transferred for Atlético de Madrid) .
