Heurtel's plan is fulfilled

Thomas Heurtel, despite some discomfort that he was dragging, will go with France to the Games. Then he will land in Madrid. It was prepared in Lyon.

France already has its twelve for the Olympics. In the absence of any changes they wish to make at the last minute, the list presented to FIBA and the IOC for the Tokyo event is official. In it Vincent Collet has players of his trust.

The main novelty of the call is Thomas Heurtel. The 32-year-old guard dissociated himself from Barcelona this year by not having Sarunas Jasikevicius's plans and signed a preliminary agreement with Real Madrid for this summer that has already materialized, although it is not official. For the Olympic event, he turned to a team from his country, ASVEL, with whom he could not play the Euroleague but he could play the national competition (like Poirier in Spain) to get in tune. He was not in the final part despite his great performances. A muscle injury in one leg set the alarm bells off in France, but a week and a half ago the player visited Madrid to undergo a medical examination and it yielded a positive result. He is in a position to go to Tokyo and then start the preseason with the white club.

In Collet's list there are other Madrid players, such as Vincent Poirier or the already signed Guerschon Yabusele, the also ACB Andrew Albicy (Herbalife Gran Canaria), the NBA Rudy Gobert (Utah Jazz), Evan Fournier (Boston Celtics), Frank Ntilikina (New York Knicks), Nicolas Batum (Los Angeles Clippers) and Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot (Brooklyn Nets), Nando de Colo (Fenerbahçe) and Moustapha Fall (Olympiacos) from the Euroleague and a striking one, the 2.11 Petr Cornelie (Pau -Orthez) .

France is in Group A of the Games, as are Iran, the Czech Republic and the United States. The American team was charged in the last World Cup, where it was subsequently defeated by Argentina in the semifinal.
