Gameiro, close to coming home

The former Valencia forward was released on June 30. He turned down Marseille at the last minute because of his past at PSG.

Kevin Gameiro is close to closing his return to Strasbourg. The French striker, free after ending his contract with Valencia, would thus return to his former training team and with which he debuted in Ligue 1 in 2005, according to L'Equipe.

He was subsequently transferred to Lorient in 2008 and that was where his explosion would come in the following three seasons, before signing for PSG. Finally, his return to Ligue 1 will take place in the next few days.

A few weeks ago Gameiro was close to signing for Marseille, although at the last minute he broke the agreement, provoking the anger of the president of the Marseille club, Pablo Longoria. After his decision would be his past at PSG, Marseille's great rival in France, although there was also talk of the possibility of a third team. Now it seems that those suspicions are confirmed.
