Felipe is back

The center-back was injured in mid-June with Brazil and has recovered from his partial tear in a ligament in his knee. He returns and wants to start LaLiga.

Felipe plans to join Atlético's training sessions today. The rojiblanco center-back will not yet jump onto the pitch and will continue with the treatment of the knee injury he suffered in mid-June with the Brazilian national team. The defender had a partial tear in the external ligament of his right knee, he was injured in training, so he did not play the America's Cup. In the first game he was on the bench. He was sick due to injury and the estimated part of sick leave was about four weeks of treatment.

Felipe will make the final part of recovering from his injury in Madrid and in principle he will be available for the league start, as there are still four weeks before the start of the competition. Simeone now has Savic and Hermoso. Giménez played the Copa América with Uruguay and will start training later. That is why it is important for Cholo to have Felipe in good condition at the league start.

Felipe was a very important footballer for Simeone last season. At the age of 32, he had a great exercise and was perfectly coupled to the system of three center-backs and two lanes. He played 38 official competition matches: 31 in LaLiga, five in the Champions League and two in the Copa del Rey. He played 2,613 minutes and everyone highlighted his work on the team.

The Brazilian has a contract until 2022 and in these next two weeks he has to finish recovering from his injury. His goal right now is to get his right knee back after the injury. From now on he is at the command of Cholo. He is already thinking about his league debut against Celta.
