Espiau: "I want to play and be important in Ponferradina"

La Deportiva presented this Wednesday the Canarian striker, who arrives from Las Palmas and has signed for two seasons with the Berciano team.

The Ponferradina continued this Wednesday with the round of presentations of the new players of the team and this time it was the turn of Edu Espiau (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 1994), who has signed for the next two seasons with the Berciano team after rejecting the renewal offer from Las Palmas, where he had developed most of his career.

Espiau acknowledged that “last year I had continuity in the first round, but in the second it became more difficult for me to play and when I spoke with the coach about the possibility of coming here it seemed like a very good project and I didn't think about it. He told me that he wanted to count on me, that it was going to be important, but I had to earn it, and I decided to come because I want to play and be important in the team. ”

The new blue and white player will have to win his place in a position in which the club currently has five members, a challenge that does not turn him back: “In this football you can't lower your arms, you have to compete in every training session . I have always been a player to earn it day after day and here it will not be less ”. Espiau made reference to the figure of Deportiva, a Yuri from whom he hopes “to learn many things, he is also a player who was in the Sports Union. I will take all the advice you give me to continue growing. ”

Regarding his contribution to the Blue and White team, Espiau assured that “I have good things in almost all the registers, but work and commitment is the first thing that I am going to give, and I hope that I also have a lot of goals. I feel more comfortable playing with another striker to distribute the spaces and occupy more area when reaching the goal ”.
