Cook will direct the operations of Casademont Zaragoza

The American point guard (1.87 meters and 39 years old) will play for his seventh team in the Endesa League. It arrives from the Hereda San Pablo Burgos.


The basketball Casademont Zaragoza and the American player with a Montenegrin passport Omar Cook (1.87, 39 years old) have reached an agreement for the veteran base to wear the red elastic for a season, according to the Aragonese club.

Cook, a player with extensive experience in the Endesa League, becomes the fifth signing of the Aragonese team for the 2021-2022 campaign, after the incorporation of Santi Yusta, Jamel McLean, Hans Vanwijn and Stan Okoye.

After being chosen 32nd in the 2001 Draft with the Orlando Magic, Cook began his professional adventure in the United States.

The Fayetteville Patriots became his home in two different stages, interspersed by his time with the Portland Trail Blazers, and succeeded by his signing with the Toronto Raptors. A stage prior to making the decision to make the leap to Europe to build a long career in the old continent.

For more than a decade he has worn the colors of Belfius Mons-Hainaut, BK Samara, Strasbourg IGB, AX Armani Exchange Milan, Lietuvos Rytas or Buducnost outside of Spain.

Diverse stages that he combined with his stays in Spain, a country in which he has accumulated nine seasons. Cook went through the ranks of Unicaja Málaga, Valencia, Caja Laboral Baskonia, Movistar Estudiantes, Herbalife Gran Canaria and, finally, Hereda San Pablo Burgos.

In this last campaign in the Burgos club, Cook has signed an average valuation of 7.5 in the League, with 5.1 points and 5.6 assists, raising this last figure to 6.6 in the Champions League, a competition in which he ended up being crowned champion in the final held in Russia and in which the Zaragoza team finished third.
