Borja Iglesias: Qatar objective

The Galician striker recovered his sense of smell during the second half of last season and now wants to reach the numbers of two years ago and the National Team.

Borja Iglesias has honed his aim and worked his physique in Madrid during the last two weeks. He has done so under the orders of the physical trainer and functional recuperator Adolfo Madrid, who together with Marcos Llorente, the Atlético player, has created AM Programs for elite athletes. The Betis forward joins the start of the preseason hungrier than ever.

Borja regained his scoring nose during the second half of last season. From June to May he scored 10 goals: two in the Copa del Rey, both against Real Sociedad and that gave him the pass to the quarterfinals, and eight in LaLiga, essential for Betis to get 6th place and qualify for the Europa League.

The 2021-22 will be the revalidation of the Galician striker, who turned 28 in March. He has between eyebrows to maintain the scoring regularity and reach or even exceed the 20 goals that he scored with Espanyol in 18-19 and that earned him the transfer to Betis in exchange for about 30 million euros. These figures would surely allow him to access internationality with Spain and, if there is a gap, obtain a place among those who play the World Cup in Qatar, which begins at the end of November 2022.
