Bernat, new 'signing' of PSG

The left-back will return to the pitch in September almost a year after tearing his ligaments. Pochettino is counting on him.

Juan Bernat is one step away from seeing the light of the tunnel regarding the ligament injury he suffered almost a year ago against Metz. The left-back has lived through an ordeal that has prevented him from playing for practically 365 days and has practically completed his recovery. According to Le Parisien, the former Valencia player will return to the pitch in September and will return to training in August with the rest of the squad.

Bernat suffered a knee ligament injury on 16 September 2020 against Metz. Although at first he was diagnosed with a recovery of 6 to 8 months, the player did not want to risk and decided not to return until he was 100% recovered. Meanwhile, PSG has suffered a lot from the loss of the Spanish, since neither Kurzawa nor Bakker (transferred to Bayer Leverkusen) have been up to the task in the important appointments.

In the beginning, Pochettino has Bernat, which could prevent PSG from signing a left-back in the summer market. The Parisian team has shown interest in Theo Hernandez, but the high claims of Milan, which is asking 60 million for the French, and the obligation to sell from PSG, have stopped the incorporation of the former Real Madrid player in his tracks.
