Xavi Torres and Canella, albivermellos until 2022

CD Lugo continues its sports planning, and is doing so for the moment with a renovation program for its oldest pieces. If first it was the two campers and emblems of the club Carlos Pita and Fernando Seoane, on Wednesday afternoon it was the turn of Xavi Torres and Roberto Canella. The midfielder and the winger, aged 34 and 33 respectively, will belong to the Albivermella discipline until 2022, extending their stay at Anxo Carro for one more year.Xavi Torres arrived last season after leaving Al Arabi and with the albivermello team he has played a total of 31 games and 2,170 minutes, scoring one goal. The pivot was practically indisputable for all coaches, making a remarkable end of the season after a more irregular start. Throughout the campaign he showed his desire to renew with Lugo, something that became a reality on Wednesday afternoon. For his part, Roberto Canella will complete his third season at Anxo Carro after arriving in 2019/2020 after being free at Sporting de Gijón. Last season he played 25 games and 2027 minutes, although the feeling was that he would have played more had it not been for injuries.

There are already four renovations undertaken after the arrival of Mauro Pérez to the albivermella sports management. Now, it is expected that new additions will begin to be announced, although there are still pending renovations such as Campabadal or the possibility that players who last season acted on loan, such as Chris Ramos or Diego Alende, may continue in the albivermella discipline.
