Leganés and a 10-day mini-league to reillusion

Leganés face the final stretch with duels against direct play-off rivals and teams from the bottom of the table. Up to three rivals could be without targets.

Leganés will face the final stretch of the season, the last ten games, with a relatively favorable schedule to re-engage at the top of the table and fight for the best possible classification in the face of a hypothetical play-off, since from Butarque already they consider the option of direct promotion almost out of the question. The Blue and Whites will face five home games and five away games, some of them against direct enemies who, if victorious, will consolidate Leganés in their most optimistic aspirations.

To be specified. From this Sunday, at home against Sabadell, Leganés will have to face half a dozen commitments in Butarque, starting with the one that will measure the Catalans. Then Ponferradina, Logroñés, Sporting and Malaga will arrive. The duel against the Malacitanos, the penultimate of the championship, will be the one that closes the regular campaign at La Avenida de los Once Leones. As a visitor, Leganés will also have five duels, namely against Espanyol, Alcorcón, Rayo, Mirandés and Zaragoza. The latter, at La Romareda, will be the last of the regular season.

Only one golaveraje at a disadvantage

Breaking down this calendar, Leganés will have four duels against rivals who currently occupy a play-off position and, therefore, are direct enemies of the pepineros. Namely: Espanyol (away), Ponferradina (home), Sporting (home) and Rayo (away). For now, the Garitano team have only lost the golaveraje against Ponferradina. The bierzanos won 3-2 at El Tolarín. Against Espanyol (2-0) and Rayo (1-0) Lega starts with an advantage. Against Sporting (1-1) the equality rules.

In addition, Leganés will also have duels against rivals who will fight for permanence. They will not be simple matches, but they are games in which the Blue and Whites should start with a theoretical advantage. Sabadell, Logroñés, Alcorcón and Zaragoza fall into this group.

Rivals with the objective achieved

It remains to be seen if, in the case of the hands, they reach the last day with salvation already in their pocket, which could facilitate the objectives of Leganés. In the case of Mirandés (in Anduva) and Málaga (in Butarque) it may happen that Leganés also measure two rivals with the objectives met.

There are, in total, 30 points at stake that start with Leganés ten points from the direct promotion (it seems a utopia), but with six ahead of the pursuers, in this case Ponferradina, which is seventh. The perception in Butarque is that there should be no problems getting into those play-offs. Disputing them after finishing the League in the best possible position is the objective.
