Laporta signs Jaume Guardiola

As announced by La Vanguardia, the until now CEO of Banc Sabadell, will be the new president of the statutory economic commission.


Joan Laporta is shaping the structure of his new governance structure and one of its most important positions, that of president of the statutory economic commission, will be held by the until now CEO of Banc Sabadell, Jaume Guardiola, according to La Vanguardia .

The position is key in the operation of the Blaugrana club, since the president of this committee is the one who must independently review the accounts of the entity and offer a report each year to the delegates and is also the one who must preside over the manager in periods of election campaign. Carles Tusquets was the last president of the economic commission and served de facto as president of the club during the four months that passed between the resignation of Josep Maria Bartomeu and Laporta's victory at the polls on March 7.

Jaume Guardiola Romojaro (Barcelona, 1957) has been until now the CEO of Banc Sabadell, the entity that covers the guarantee of 124.6 million euros with which the Laporta board covers 15 percent of the last budget in solidarity of the entity approved by the partners.

Before working for Banc Sabadell, he was part of the leadership of Banco de Bilbao and later of BBVA, where he served as director of the entity in Mexico and Latin America.
