Juan Ayuso, the great Spanish promise triumphs in Italy

The 18-year-old Spaniard alone won this Italian U-23 event that has names such as Tao Geoghegan, Grossschartner, Baldato ...

Juan Ayuso continues to take steps forward in his career and this Sunday he won the prestigious Piva Trophy, an under-23 race that has a great history since its first edition in 1955 and that has names of the stature of Tao Geoghegan, winner of the 2020 Giro, Padun, Grossschartner, Muhlberger, Brajkovic ... He also became the first Spaniard to conquer it. A milestone for the 18-year-old Spanish cyclist, who is currently playing for the Italian Colpack before making the leap to the World Tour in the ranks of the UAE Emirates.

The one from Jávea also achieved it with an attack that took him to the goal alone. Luca Colnaghi (Trevigiani) and Antonio Puppio (Qhubeka) escorted him on the podium of the 72nd edition of the event. A triumph that only confirms the quality of this great promise of Spanish cycling that has already contested several races in the top category with great results, especially in the Coppi & Bartali Week, in which it accumulated 5th place and 6th in two stages and finished 17th overall.
