Real Madrid reactivates its interest in signing the Serbian Vasilije Micic

The outside of Efes has the NBA option still parked and Madrid was about to sign him two years ago. He is unstoppable in 2021.

Real Madrid begins to move ahead of next season in anticipation of what may happen in the two competitions that remain to be played, the Endesa League and the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, after already signing an agreement with the French base Thomas Heurtel, now at ASVEL as an Olympic springboard after being cut by Barça.

They want to reinforce several positions and a priority is that of the base-escort combo. Sergio Llull, now injured, will continue to be linked to the club, except for a surprise. With the signature of Heurtel and the continuity of Alocén, the one who is more outside than inside is Nico Laprovittola. Both Causeur (between 1 and 2) and Rudy (between 2 and 3) will have a contract in force next year, but the string of physical problems endured and that in reality a replacement has not been signed for Facu Campazzo make the club want invest there (obviating that even Alberto Abalde has come to play minutes in the position of director). A name comes to the fore that was already linked to the club two years ago: Vasilije Micic.

Mozzart Sport points to the possibility that the Serbian could join the white team. SER Deportivos (Cadena SER) adds that it is not only this position that is being looked at, but all of them. Open options. Micic was the most appetizing option in 2019, a priority goal, but he stayed at Efes.

The figure handled in Serbia is 2.5 million euros. It is made possible by what Heurtel costs, less than what he earned in Barcelona, what Llull would be lowered, already to a lower level than in the previous contract, and what they would save with Laprovittola, who arrived as MVP of the ACB when he agreed on his salary at the white club. In the absence of a player who helps Tavares better than Tyus and the negotiations for Garuba to extend his contract, the main lines go through here.

Vasilije Micic's situation

In Anadolu Efes he shares a position with Shane Larkin. Just as last season it was the American who was aiming for MVP, in this campaign - especially since the new year began - it is the Serbian who dominates. He comes from being the best at the Palau against Barça, which is the leader of the standings, and from breaking his points and valuation records in the Turkish duel against Fenerbahçe.

The NBA is still something to consider for him, but the jump is complicated and more so after his rights were transferred from the Sixers to the Thunder last fall. Micic is 27 years old, so he can put up with an eventual American adventure a little longer.
