Liverpool 'smash' a goal to Real Madrid and Barcelona

According to 'The Athletic', Ibrahima Konaté is very close to becoming a new 'red' player, clause payment (€ 40 million) through. It was in the white and Barcelona agenda.

Liverpool is already working on signing a new reinforcement for its defensive line and the chosen one is Ibrahima Konaté. As The Athletic has advanced, the negotiation is already advanced with the player, since the amount of the transfer will be the one that appears in his termination clause (40 million) since RB Leipzig is not in a position where he needs to sell. Konaté would arrive in the summer to increase a list of center-backs in Liverpool that this season, due to injuries, has been hit harder than ever.

At 21 years old, Konaté is Klopp's target after having excelled at RB Leipzig, where he arrived after leaving Sochaux in 2017. Despite having achieved the winter additions of Ozan Kabak -a grant with option to buy- and Ben Davies -He has not made his debut yet- Liverpool want more centrals to avoid possible injuries. This season, Van Dijk, Matip and Joe Gómez have missed many games due to physical problems and midfielders such as Fabinho or Henderson have had to delay their position.

Konaté is currently playing in the group stage of the U21 European Championship with the French national team. If Liverpool manages to close its signing before the summer, it would also avoid a possible rise in its price if the footballer played international tournaments with his team. In this way, he would be ahead of Madrid or Barça, who had him on their respective agendas.
