RB Leipzig does not give up. Despite placing a total of four points behind Bayern Munich in the leadership of the Bundesliga, the team sponsored by Red Bull did not lower their arms and beat a gray Arminia Bielefeld to continue fighting the German salad bowl and place, of moment, to a point of the almighty Bavarian ensemble. Bayern will be able to re-establish the four-point gap over the Saxon side if they beat Stuttgart on Saturday at the Allianz Arena, but the signal could not be clearer from Leipzig: they will fight the Bundesliga until the end.

The visitors, once again without Angeliño, took possession from the first minute, but could not find any solution against the solidity of Arminia. After a few safe distant shots, the East Germans had their best chance just before halftime through Nkunku, but the Imperial Ortega at home thwarted it. The locals concentrated on defending and were hardly seen in the Leipzig area. A Doan shot blocked by Sabitzer was of the little the Bielefeld offered.

Leipzig was superior and, just after passing through the changing rooms, they finally managed to reflect their dominance on the scoreboard. First, Dani Olmo recovered the leather and then received it in the Nkunku area and served it on a tray to Sabitzer for the Austrian to put Nagelsmann's men ahead. Nkunku was able to extend the score in favor of RB, but he ran into a huge Ortega (Bayern is already interested in him as a replacement for Neuer) under sticks that prevented his team from firing Leipzig with a wider result against him. Still alive in Leipzig in the fight for the salad bowl.
