Hungary will be in MotoGP

Hungary will be part of the motorcycle championship calendar from 2023, on a newly built circuit and with former driver Gábor Talmácsi as ambassador after the agreement reached this Thursday. Budapest was the place of the signing of the agreement between the general director of Dorna and MotoGP organizer, Carmelo Ezpeleta, as well as the Hungarian authorities, among them the Minister of Innovation and National Technology, József Pacza.

The next Hungarian Grand Prix will take place on a new circuit, and construction of the same is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2021, to be already built and tested before the premiere of the Hungarian GP in 2023. The venue It will be located in Debrecen, the second largest city in Hungary.

The project aims to engage fans in Hungary and expand the MotoGP calendar in central Europe, as well as develop riders following the example of the 2007 125cc world champion Gábor Talmácsi, ambassador of the agreement. For his part, Carmelo Ezpeleta celebrated having Hungary on the calendar two years from now. "We are very happy because in Hungary there is a lot of passion for the sport, Gabor was world champion and with this project many more Hungarians will begin to come to our paddock," he predicted.
