The Hereda San Pablo Burgos got a long-suffering victory (76-75) against a VEF Riga that dominated much of the game but was unable to close it when the Burgos team was worse. The match, which was won from defense, was starred by a great Jasiel Rivero who rose as the leader of the azulones in his first game in this new phase of the BCL.

The match did not start comfortably for the Burgos who saw a very successful Latvian team in attack (6-11) thanks to the contribution of the Latvian international base Skele, although from the free kick San Pablo was closing the gap (15-18). Janis Gailitis's men continued to dominate, increasing the advantage over an unrecognizable team from Burgos that did not see a hoop from either the inside or the outside shot, but despite everything, they did not get far enough on the scoreboard (29-34).

VEF Riga continued to score easily, although the version of the Burgos team improved from the outside shot, due to the success of its captain Vitor Benite. However, it was not the Saint Paul of previous days (43-51). A 9-2 run in favor of Peñarroya's men as soon as the last quarter started brought them back into the game (52-53), it was a turning point in the match, since from there Joan Peñarroya's team he grew to tie with a triple by Jasiel Rivero (60-60). The Cuban joined Benite with the team behind his back, although Skele once again gave excitement to the match (64-65) and although San Pablo had options to win with two free throws by Thad McFadden, the American only scored one and the match went to extra time.

Again Rivero was the one who commanded in extra time where Allman also appeared, the revelation of the Latvian team that had hardly had a leading role during regulation time. With 9 seconds to go and 76-75 on the scoreboard, Ken Horton blocked Madsen's shot with a spectacular block that was worth to take the game.
